9 Easy Ways To Keep It Tight In 2017

Happy 2017 everybody! Hopefully you’ve successfully nursed your hangover and you’re having a better start to the year than Mariah Carey. Now that NYE is in the rearview, you’re probably crazy pumped and ready to life your very best life in the new year. If looking better, feeling better, and treating yourself better are on your resolutions list, here are nine easy ways to keep it tight in 2017:

Drink All The Water

The first step to great skin and great health is easy as hell. Drink your water! Divide your weight in half. That’s how many ounces of water you should be consuming every day. Get on it and carry a water bottle with you wherever you go.

Skip Dessert Every Now And Then

You don’t have to deny yourself all the goodness. Just try not to go ham every day. You shouldn’t get dessert after breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Indulge on occasion and you’ll feel better about yourself.

Keep Your Dating Standards High AF

Keeping it tight isn’t just about your physical appearance. It’s also about the way you respect yourself. In 2017, keep your dating and hook up standards high as fuck. Don’t fall into bed with somebody because you’re lonely or because you’ve had a few too many drinks. Respect yourself because you deserve to be woo bombed. Also, branch out. Don’t always stick to your “type.” Try the funny dude, the sporty dude, and everything in between because there’s more to life than hot babes that don’t know how to treat a lady.

Find An Activity You Actually Love Doing

If you hate running or if hot yoga makes you want to barf, odds are you’re not going to be motivated to hit the gym everyday for more torture. Find an activity you actually like doing and it won’t feel like work. Try boxing, pilates, Crossfit, softball leagues, swimming… see what sticks and you’ll be tight as hell.

Meal Prep

I don’t know about you, but I tend to get into trouble when I don’t have healthy food options handy. I’ll start to make bad eating decisions or I’ll eat out and spend too much money and consume way too many calories. Try meal prepping twice a week so you have healthy eating options readily available.

Cut Back On Your Vices

Going cold turkey isn’t all that realistic, is it? Instead of vowing to quit smoking, boozing, drinking caffeine, and eating sugar all at once, commit to cutting back on your vices instead. Only drink on weekends, or limit yourself to 3 drinks a week. Ween yourself off of caffeine by going from two cups to one cup to half a cup. Ease into it for best results.

Breathe Between Bites

Everyone seems to be in constant pursuit of keeping it tight physically. Instead of going to extremes and subscribing to impossible diets and exercise programs, take little steps. Eat healthier and eat SLOWER so you can recognize when you’re actually full. Try to take a few breaths between each bite instead of shoveling it in.

Take Tech Breaks

Think about all the time you spend staring at your phone, your computer, and your television. YUCK. Take a breather to live like a functional human. Instead of charging your cell phone next to your bed, charge it in the other room and buy a normal alarm clock. Detaching can only lead to goodness and more time to think creatively about things that aren’t social media or TV shows or work.

Quality Over Quantity

We live in a disposable world, now don’t we? We’d rather spend $20 here and $10 there on cheap, overly trendy clothes than save up for something dope that will stand the test of time. This year, try to resist the urge to go on frivolous shopping trips. Skip the coffee shop and make a pot at home. Avoid buying anything that’s “just OK.” These little changes will help you save money and also help you save up for experiences (and clothing pieces) you’re truly head over heels for.
