EXCLUSIVE: Fleurie Premieres “Wildwood” Music Video

If you’re not familiar with the glorious sounds of Nashville artist, Fleurie (real name: Lauren Strahm), you’re in for a real treat! The singer captured my attention last summer with her gorgeous sophomore EP, Arrows – a collection of honest storytelling set to a dreamlike soundtrack of lush synths, piano and angelic vocals.

The singer has been steadily releasing a music video for each track off of Arrows and BUZZNET is excited to share the premiere of third installment, “Wildwood” today! Stating that the track is about “…being noticed by everyone except for the person you wish would notice you,” the video’s narrative plays up the idea of the grass always being greener on the other side as the singer finds herself boarding a rocket into space leading up to the concept of desire and illusion.

“Wildwood” holds a special place in my heart for me personally as it was the song that started playing the night I sent a heartfelt email to someone special last fall who I knew I had no chance with. The first verse leading up to the chorus was so incredibly on point and descriptive of that night that it’s hard not to get choked up whenever I hear it.
