How Vanessa Hudgens Became A Criminal On Valentine’s Day

For those of us who are single and couldn’t wait for Valentine’s Day weekend to be over, we can breathe a sigh of relief that we don’t have to deal with a designated day to PDA for another year. However, for those who have a special someone, cards were exchanged, presents gifted, kisses shared and weekend trips taken to just enjoy being with each other. One of those cozy couples was Vanessa Hudgens and longtime boyfriend Austin Butler.

The pair hit the road for a couple days in Coconino National Forest in Sedona, Arizona. While enjoying the beauty of mother nature, the couple decided to carve their love into a rock and post a picture of the innocent gesture on Vanessa’s instagram. While carving names into a tree, or rock, etc. harkens back to the cute days of puppy love, it turns out it’s a criminal offense.

While Vanessa and Austin had no idea they were breaking the law by carving their names in a rock, someone saw the photo, got pissed and reported them to the police. Apparently, federal law prohibits anyone from “damaging natural surfaces or property of the United States.” Yikes! Vanessa has since taken down the photo, but the couple is now being investigated…eep! If charged with a criminal offense, the pair could face up to 6 months in jail and a $5,000 fine. Ouch.

Do you think Vanessa and Austin should be punished for their rock carving?
