17 year-old Pittsburgh pop singer/songwriter, Daya, (pronounced day-uh) is that pop-music breath of fresh we’ve needed for quite a while. In the singer’s debut single, “Hide Away,” an anthem for the good girls, that age-old question of finding a decent guy these days is put to the test. “Boys seem to like the girls who laugh at anything; the ones who get undressed before the second date,” the first verse proudly proclaims, meriting a bunch of fists in the air from classy girls everywhere demanding quality and respect.
