2015 Fall Album Preview

Fall is on its way and the excitement couldn’t be more palpable! I tend to associate fall with new beginnings and of course, tons of new music! There’s always something new to obsess over and these upcoming albums are definitely something to buzz about! Get your iPods, playlists (and wallets) ready!

Lana Del Rey – Honeymoon (9.18)

Lana Del Rey first burst onto the scene in 2012 with the release of her stellar debut, Born To Die. Since then, the singer has provided us with her greatly-appreciated yet unconventional old-Hollywood vibe on the Paradise EP and Ultraviolence. Honeymoon is her third LP and is getting some pretty impressive hype around the blogosphere with “High By The Beach,” “Terrance Loves You” and of course, title track “Honeymoon.” Needless to say, this is going to be an interesting one.

CHVRCHES – Every Open Eye (9.25)

CHVRCHES made everyone’s ears perk up in 2013 with the release of their debut, The Bones of What You Believe. Now, the Scottish electro-pop trio are back with their sophomore effort, Every Open Eye, with more stories to tell and people to tell off. Singer Lauren Mayberry has been a favorite of women across the globe, speaking out on the topics of sexism that seem to get brushed aside. With lead single, “Leave a Trace,” at the helm, we’re sure this one’s gonna be a banger!

Garbage – Garbage 20th Anniversary Reissue (10.2)

Isn’t that a lovely sight?! *swoon* I’m sure you all know how much I love Garbage. Garbage is life. The band will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut this fall with a 20 Years Queer tour and a reissue of the album that started it all. Remastered and reloaded with b-sides and remixes, this is the epitome of my wildest dreams and then some.

Selena Gomez – Revival (10.9)

Selena Gomez has been through hell and back over the past few years…and she can’t wait to tell you about it. Revival is Gomez’s fifth studio album and will feature the hit single, “Good For You” featuring A$AP Rocky along with a diary-esque view of the singer’s trials and tribulations over the years that have led her to the place she’s in now. It’s about time for a revival.

Demi Lovato – Confident (10.16)

Demi Lovato kept the chill this summer with her hit single, “Cool For The Summer,” and now she’s ready to let her confidence shine on her fifth studio release, Confident. Like her bestie, Selena Gomez, Demi is set to surprise fans with a mature and self-assured view into her life as her career takes another high into a new chapter. Our bodies are ready!

Small Black – Best Blues (10.16)

Words cannot even describe how excited I am that Brooklyn’s Small Black are releasing an album in the fall. I practically played out their Limits of Desire record last fall and Best Blues is set to be another epic one! With singles like “Boys Life” and “No One Wants It To Happen To You” in the lead, it can only get better from here. Gonna have this one playing as I hang by the waterfront, for sure.

BØRNS – Dopamine (10.16)

Garrett Borns was a professional magician when he was just 10 so it really comes as no surprise that the Michigan singer knows how to churn out the synthpop hits. He’ll be releasing Dopamine, unto the world very soon and we imagine the results to be very blissful. If single, “Electric Love,” isn’t enough to convince you, I don’t know what will.

The Neighbourhood – Wiped Out! (10.30)

It seems like it’s been an eternity since The Neighbourhood graced us with their debut, I Love You., featuring the hit, “Sweater Weather” back in 2013. Now, they are finally releasing that sophomore record we’ve been anxiously anticipating, entitled, Wiped Out! That wait had us wiped out! Lead single, “R.I.P. To My Youth,” takes on a more hip-hop role than we expected but there’s still more sneak peaks to come.

Coasts – Coasts (11.6)

To say that I have been waiting for a debut from Coasts is the understatement of the past two years. Ever since I discovered “Oceans” and “Stone” back in 2013, I have been so hooked, and now the time has come for that self-titled debut to be unleashed into the world. Fans in the UK get it earlier (9.25) but once November 6th rolls around, I’m probably gonna cradle this thing in my arms. No shame.

What albums are you excited about this fall?
