Ashley Greene Gets Real About The Pressure To Be Perfect

It’s not breakinng news that celebrities deal with immense pressure to be perfect. A little weight loss, weight gain, or style choice can literally send blogs, fans, and entertainment news shows into a frenzy of speculation and criticism.

It’s unfortunate that such critical eyes “comes with the territory” of fame, but Twilight actress, Ashley Greene is speaking out and making a whole lot of sense about her experience with body shaming and unrealistic expectations to be flawless.

In a recent interview with Health magazine, Ashley addressed the ridiculous things she’s been called and why everyone needs to open their eyes to the reality that not everyone comes from a blessed gene pool.

“There’s always going to be pressure. Anyone who doesn’t feel pressure is a really good liar,” she said. “You’re always going to be too skinny or too fat or too muscular, and I’ve gotten every single one of those. Everyone has a different perception of what they think perfect is, and you’re never gonna be able to please everyone. It’s so tough, but once you come to terms with that, it’s a little easier to deal with.”

Now that Ashley has eight years of living in the media spotlight under her belt, she’s become more comfortable in her skin and says other people’s opinions don’t matter as long as she’s happy with herself…which she is.

“If people are unhappy with the way I look, then they can be unhappy. But I feel strong and healthy and happy. Some people, like Gisele Bundchen, have crazy genes, and that’s just what she looks like. But most of us are not 5’11” and don’t look like that naturally.”

Preach girl, preach. Loving Ashley’s attitude and perspective on Hollywood’s ridiculous expectations.
