Sam Smith Nominated For Two 2014 VMA’s + New Video For “I’m Not The Only One”
Many of you know Sam Smith from his smash hit, “Stay With Me“, which took the music world by storm earlier this year and is still sitting at No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100! Not to mention that Smith‘s album, “In The Lonely Hour“, continues to chart in the Top 10, currently at No. 7, on the Billboard 200. Well world, he’s back and once again, he didn’t disappoint!
Sam Smith‘s video for “I’m Not The One“, staring Dianna Agron. from Glee, and Chris Messina, from The Mindy Show, premiered on Vevo only a week ago and has alread reached over two million views!
Debuting as a single from “In The Lonely Hour”, the video exploits the ups and downs of an unhealthy marriage while Smith‘s lyrics capture each feeling of turmoil and emotional distress.
“This video for me is the best one we have done to date,” admits Smith. “I had so much fun making this video with Luke (director), Diana, and Chris, and I am just overwhelmed that we managed to visually capture the emotion in the song so honestly and so truthfully.”
As if Smith isn’t already successful enough in his music career, he’s been nomimated for two MTV Video Music Awards in the categories of “Best Male” and “Artist To Watch.” The “2014 MTV Video Music Awards” will be broadcast live from the Forum in Inglewood, CA on Sunday, August 24 that 9pm ET/PT.
The great news for this breakout star doesn’t stop there! A forthcoming North American tour in September has completely sold out, including two shows at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, two shows in New York City and the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
