Jordan JAE’s Summer Reads

1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

If you haven’t already heard of the, The Fault in Our Stars, it is a blockbuster movie right now starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort. I waited on line for an hour and half to see the movie. Interestingly, not because of these talented actors but because the book was honestly one of my favorite reads ever! I read the book last summer before I knew it was being made into a movie and it honestly changed my life! The Fault in Our Stars is a must read even if you have seen the movie! J

2.Gone by Michael Grant

Gone is about kids in a regional area that lose their parents because everyone over the age of fifteen mysteriously disappears. They are left alone and must fend for themselves and figure out why this happened, how it happened, and most importantly, what to do about it. The character, Sam, is a boy who had once been invisible and becomes the most noticeable boy. This is because Sam (even if he doesn’t really) at least seems like he knows what to do and has the answers. Read the Gone series to find out what happens to Sam and his friends after their world changed forever.

3.The Lost Hero Series by Rick Riordan

For fans of the Percy Jackson series you will absolutely love this sub series, The Lost Hero. This book is about what happens after the Percy Jackson series. For those of you who have never picked up a Percy Jackson book but love mythology, you will love The Lost Hero! In this book Percy is missing and a boy named Jason suddenly appears at the Greek Camp. Jason and his friends Piper and Leo go through troubles in and out of the camp along with Annabeth and Coach Hedge. In this quest to find Percy you will get to see the relationships between the other characters and you will never get tired of reading this intense yet zany series. You will not want to miss out!

4.Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen

Lock and Key is about a teenage girl, Ruby, who’s mother is a drug addict and an alcoholic. Ruby is forced to live with her sister and her brother in-law, whom she hasn’t seen in years. She moves into a huge home in a luxury estate and soon meets her neighbor, Nate, who happens to be a boy her age. She must learn to live with her past and face her future all while learning to live in the present and let someone into her heart.

5.Maze Runner by James Dashner

Maze Runner is the book I am planning on reading this summer. Yes, it does have something to do with the fact that the movie is coming out soon starring none other than the extremely attractive, Dylan O’Brian. This book is about a group of boys that have no recollection of their past and have to go through a dangerous maze to survive. Definitely my must read for the summer!
