‘I went through an awkward phase in my 30s’: Jennifer Aniston has never been happier… and plans to direct like Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie did it with In The Land Of Blood And Honey and now Unbroken, which she’s making in Australia.

Next year Jennifer Aniston is going to give it a try.

In the new issue of Parade magazine the Friends star admitted she’s going to give directing a shot. ‘I think I’m going to try at some point next year to direct a full-length feature, which I’m extremely excited about.’

In 2011 the Emmy winner directed one of the short films for Lifetime TV’s Five series.

But before the 44-year-old directs a movie, has some more acting to do.

We’re about to do a sequel to Horrible Bosses, which is such a fun character for me,’ she said. The actress plays a sex addict opposite Charlie Day and Jason Bateman.

The star, who was on Monday named one of the most overpaid actresses at $10m a film, is thankful to her career.

‘I’m just so happy and I’m grateful for my fans,’ she said. ‘I just hope I keep doing work that they love.’

The Wanderlust stunner added she loves the relationship she has with her public: ‘I think it’s absolutely wonderful. It’s a give and take. You have the fans because you’re doing something that they’re entertained by. I think it’s a beautiful exchange.’

As far as her personal life she says all is good even though she still hasn’t shared her wedding date with fiance Justin Theroux.

When asked when she feels best, she said, ‘I feel most beautiful when I’m just at home with Justin in the morning. Or any time of day I’m with him.’

She also said, ‘My life is so fantastic. I’m so happy. There are a lot of exciting things that I’m excited about doing.’

As far as her new hair do she said, ‘ I just chopped it all off! I’m loving it right now. It’s right below my ear. I went short! But I do that every couple of years. It’s just nice to do something different… but at the end of the day, I’m a lover of long hair. I just think it’s beautiful. I would have to say that’s my go-to fave.’

She also said she envies Gisele Bundchen’s ‘exquisite hair.’

As far as what the soon-to-be 45-year-old actress said about what she’s learned in life, she admitted, ‘There’s nothing to worry about—although I don’t think I had a care in the world at 25, either,’ she revealed.

‘That all started in my thirties, my awkward phase,’ she admitted.

Interestingly, she married Brad Pitt, 49 – who is now engaged to Angelina, 38 – when she was 31.

She added, ‘I’m a bit of a late bloomer! But it doesn’t matter to me because it just gets better. They do say youth is wasted on the young, but I feel just as youthful now – if not more – than I did when I was 25. I’m more in my body; I’m more in my mind. Life is full. Life is wonderful. We’re very, very fortunate.’

As far as her TV past, she confessed to catching Friends reruns.

‘I actually will always stop and watch, not for the whole thing, but usually because I’ve forgotten a lot of the episodes,’ she admitted.

‘It’s sort of fun for a second, I’m like, what’s this one? And sometimes it comes back to me. I always know what year it was by what length my hair was or what color.’

And, lastly, she used to love hanging out at hospitals.

‘That’s another weird thing about me,’ she revealed.

‘I remember when my grandmother – so sweet, God rest her soul – was in the hospital, I always loved visiting her there. Very morbid memory! Most people hate hospitals. And I’m not a big fan of them now, but there was something about it for me back then.’
