Life Blog: Turning the BIG 21

Today I’am 21 and while most people would be out flashing their newly horizontal card, I have decided that spending time at a show I adore, with my second family, and doing what I love is much more fulfilling than the typical things that come with this age. I’m getting ready as you read, to head over to Thomas and Mac arena to hang with my Winter Jam family and interview some talented people/ snap photos for the lovely folks over at Stage Right Secrets. Such a great way to spend a BIG birthday.

I made a pact to myself a long time ago that I would live life naturally. I have never drank alcohol, smoked or done drugs in my entire life. I plan on keeping it that way. I work in an industry where I’am surronded by this stuff 24-7. I spent a summer on a tour where maybe 5 out of 1,000 roadies were in the same postion as me. I think for me I want to send a postive messgae and be a good role model for not only my readers, but also the people I work with. I want to show people that you CAN be successful in the music industry and never have to touch any of that. You can still be “fun” to hang around as well. All I know deep down is that it’s not my thing and I’m living a great and adventrous life without. People ask me all the time if it’s hard becasue of temptation. I kind of laugh because it’s not even in my brain to even give in and try any. It truthfully doesn’t faze me.

I never really put it out there and thought that being a BUZZMAKER I can show you another side to my life and hopefully inspire others to do the same.

I love this non-profit Natural High, they help youth discover, ampify, and pursue their natural high so that they have a reason to say no to artifical high. For me, my natural high is a bunch of things ” Music, Family, Traveling, My Job, Laughing, This Blog”. That list is SO LONG.

So today is just another day in the world of Gabbie Brown, expect I got a new card + I’m a year older + I get to eat cake and celebrate with people who support what I stand for + sing at the top of my lungs to music by my friends.

Now you learned something new about me.

xx
