Ashlee Holmes: Personal Fitness Motivation

It’s almost that time of the year again… that time when The Victoria’s Secret fashion show airs and makes you feel even guiltier about all of the food you’ve been consuming during the holiday season. That time when every girl contemplates taking their own life at the sight of the Victoria’s Secret angels strutting their stuff down the runway.

WELL…. I’m here to ask tell you to stop being so negative and put that energy into something more productive for yourself. You should LOVE yourself. Confidence is sexy ladies. SO… If you aren’t fully happy with your body… stop making excuses and do something about it.

For starters… take a long look at yourself in the mirror. Observe every single inch of you… every flaw. Accept the body you were given. For all the women who have curves… you could diet forever and still be a size 10. It’s called bone structure. A heavier set girl will NEVER have the same body as Megan Fox. HOWEVER.. you can still be healthy, toned, BEAUTIFUL and fit. You’d be surprised what just 3 months of progress looks like. Imagine 6 months. Imagine a year. It may seem like a long time for you to start noticing a difference in your body, but I promise you it really isn’t. They say it takes 4 WEEKS for YOU to start seeing your body changing, 8 WEEKS for your friends and family to start to notice, and 12 WEEKS for everyone else to take note. KEEP GOING.

Instead of envying the Victoria’s Secret angels while you sit on your couch eating a pint of Ben & Jerry’s… APPRECIATE them for motivating you THAT MUCH MORE. THEN… go work for the body that you desire. Excercise regularly and try to make better choices when it comes to what you put in your body. My favorite quote in regards to food is “One bad meal won’t make you fat… just like one good meal won’t make you skinny.” You can still eat what you want.. just in moderation.

In regards to you getting the body of a Victoria’s Secret Angel… People tend to make excuses by saying things like “YEAH.. WELL.. THEY’RE SUPERMODELS.. IT’S THEIR JOB TO LOOK THAT GOOD!” –While that may be true to a degree… they are HUMAN. There are PLENTY of NON supermodel women out there that look just as good… if not BETTER!

Check out this gallery of images that I personally use as fitness motivation. Most of the images are of regular people. NO EXCUSES LADIES! It’s time for you to fall in love with yourself and love the skin you’re in.

I’ll post about what I did to get in shape. I’m still on my journey to getting fit… but I LOVE my results so far 🙂
