Britney Spears Will Perform on Good Morning America! Here’s Everything We Want From Her New Era

Yesterday morning, Good Morning America announced that Britney Spears will be performing on the show on Sept. 17. Britney Spears. Performing. On live TV. All together now: AHH! IT’S BRITNEY, BITCH

“The biggest names in pop will be on @GMA–can handle this line-up?” GMA teased. Katy Perry is also scheduled to appear (tomorrow) as well as Lady Gaga (next Monday). But all we’re really concerned about right now is Britney Spears.

If you’re a member of the Britney Army, we don’t need to tell you that Sept. 17 also happens to be the same day that the countdown on BritneySpears.com runs out. Which has to mean we are getting new music in 11 days, right?!

Being the charitable people that we are, we decided to go ahead and make a list of everything we want from Britney this era. Follow this list, Brit, and you’re bound to leave every other pop star in your dust:

1. Club bangers like on Blackout.

Arguably Britney’s most iconic album, musically speaking.

2. But more personal songs, too.

Luckily for us, Britney has said that it’s going to be her “most personal album ever :)” and an album for her “diehard fans.” (That’d be us.)

Executive producer will.i.am said he met with Britney for months before they started recording, “I said, ‘Let’s talk about what you’re excited about. Let’s talk about things you’ve done in you career, what you’re happy about. Let’s talk about spending time with your kids, let’s talk about your breakup. Let’s talk about how now you’re single, how independent you might feel.'” And that’s what’s going into this album.

3. More music videos like “Toxic.”

Or really any of the iconic videos from the In The Zone era.

4. Britney-era dancing.

We know she’s still got it in her, hand dancing be damned!

5. The pomp and circumstance of the Femme Fatale and Circus eras.

Say what you will about Britney’s most recent albums and tours, but they were big, extravagant spectacles. And we expect that out of any pop star, so one of the biggest pop stars ever has to double deliver. Bring on the pyrotechnics!

6. Something new.

Britney is teaming with will.i.am on this album, but is bringing in a slew of other producers and songwriters too, including Sia (“The song is both beautiful and heartbreaking. Evokes SO much emotion every time I hear it. One of the most beautiful songs I have recorded in a LONG time.”), Emeli Sande, William Orbit, Naughty Boy and Charli XCX. She will also reteam with Danja, who provided some of the best tracks off Blackout. We want fresh new beats, stuff we’ve never heard from her before.

7. Something controversial.

It wouldn’t be Britney without a little controversy, right?

8. Something fierce.

Like we even have to ask.

Mostly, we just want to feel like Britney wants to be working, recording, performing, promoting, touring, etc. We want to see her joking and having fun and taking control over the business of Britney Spears.

If we get all that, we’ll be like:
