Throwback Thursday: Teen Choice Award Edition!

It’s that special time of year again, where American Teens vote on the best and brightest stars in the pop culture sky for TEEN CHOICE 2013! The lineup this year looks awesome (One Direction! Paramore! Florida Georgia Line!), but we thought it might be nice to take a little trip back to revisit some of the best performances from the past five years. Check ’em out, and be sure to see who wins the big surfboard live this Sunday 8/11 at 8/7c on FOX!

“I’ll Be Lovin’ U Long Time” by Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey is a special sparkle-monster who makes songs that you just can’t help but sing along to — (hello, Always Be My Baby is a standard karaoke banger). Here’s her performance from Teen Choice 2008 featuring shirtless hunks, breakdancing and one pretty great blue crop top.

“Party In The U.S.A.” by Miley Cyrus

Before the twerking, before the blonde, before the antics — there was Hannah Montana. And after Hannah Montana, there was “Party In the USA”, another one of those songs that everybody seems to know the words to. Watch her perform her smash hit for the first time on Teen Choice 2009!

“Teenage Dream” by Katy Perry

We all know Katy Perry puts on one spectacular live show — please see “Part of Me” and then get back to us, we’ll wait — but the awesomest thing about this performance of “Teenage Dream” from 2010 is the a cappella intro. Her voice is killer. Check it out.

“Good Life” by OneRepublic

OneRepublic wowed us with their awesome stage setup, catchy tunes and expert use of xylophone in their 2011 performance of “Good Life”.

“Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen

The mind works in crazy ways, because we almost forgot about this earworm of a summer jam, but the minute we watched this rad performance, it all came rushing back. We are of course, talking about Carly Rae Jepsen’s smash hit “Call Me Maybe”. Watch her kill it at Teen Choice 2012.
