Get The Look: Shadowhunters Edition!

We’re getting ready for the release of “Mortal Instruments City of Bones” in so many different ways, but one that that we HAVEN’T discussed is the fashion! Take Lily Collins as Clary Fray. Her look is practical, sexy and completely badass. That jacket — I die. Those gloves! If you want to get a jump start on your Halloween costume, or are just interested in finding a leather jacket that looks just like the one she’s wearing, here’s a breakdown of her look. Wear your best Shadowhunters look to the premiere of “Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” August 21st!

1. Waxed cotton jeans are awesome because they have the tough, rugged look of leather, but are actually just regular pants — no dry cleaning or fancy anything required. They even look better the dirtier they are, so this pair rom the Gap would be great for everyday life or killing demons or traveling through portals to other realms — you know, normal, everyday stuff.

2. Leather, leather and more leather: Leather’s awesome because it’s timeless, classic and makes you look automatically tough, even when you’re just going to the drugstore to pick up toilet paper. We’re loving this classic motorcycle jacket that Clary’s wearing in the promo shots, but we wanted to update the look a little. Here’s a nighttime look from Asos — perfect for slaying demons after hours.

3. Fingerless leather gloves are the perfect combination of fashion and function. Your palms are protected from whatever the elements might throw at you, but you still look good. Clary definitely needs these gloves for fighting demons and such, but you can get this look with this studded pair right here.

4. Okay, so maybe you can’t have runes inscribed on your body, but you can surely wear them on your sleeve, in your hears, and next to your heart. Check out this sweet jewelry line and grab your favorite rune piece to wear today. We like these earrings.

That’s it! Use these pieces as style inspiration and to get ready for Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, be sure to check out our hub page.
