World UFO Day Is Out Of This World!

You can go ahead and leave me in the desert without water to die for the title of this blog. I didn’t know how else to really start this off so I guess this will have to do. Since today is World UFO Day, I thought I would talk about some of my favorite identifiable flying objects/extraterrestrial things instead of showing you clips of questionable objects in the sky.

It’s not that I don’t think other life forms exist (because I think it’s highly probable that there is life out there in the huge VASTNESS OF SPACE), it’s just that a lot of the footage that we do have looks like this:

And then this happens:

JUST STOP.

Anypoop, let’s talk about stuff! Here are some of my favorite non-Earth based things (but actually made on earth for our entertainment) ever of all time. Click the titles of the movies to watch the the trailers on YouTube if you should feel so inclined.

E.T.

When I was small, I used to eat hella Reese’s Pieces because of this movie. Friggin’ E.T’s fam bam left because they got scared and then everything was sad but then there was a rainbow at the end yay!

The Flight Of The Navigator

The spaceship is voiced by Paul Rubens, aka Pee Wee Herman. That is all you need to know about this. Oh and it’s adventures.

The Explorers

This movie is like, well it was my childhood. It was also why I tore apart the washing machine with my dad’s tools and burned my hand trying to create circuts with old wires. Anyway, it’s about these kids that build a spaceship out of a carnival ride and end up going to that spaceship above and party with some aliens and stuff. It’s mostly the best thing ever.

Close Encounters Of The Third Kind

This movie just made me want to play with my mash potatoes and learn how to play that cool succession of notes that they used to communicate with the mothership.

The Abyss

The Abyss is weird. The little alien thing above lives deep inside the nether bits of the earth in this giant thing that looks like a giant shoe horn from space. I like this movie because aliens, Ed Harris, & Mary Elizabeth Minestrone or however you spell her last name. They all prevail over this dude that looks like a missing Village People reject that tries to blow up the aliens and stuff. This movie is awesome!

Cocoon

So this movie is mostly about Steve Guttenberg’s chest hair and some olden folk that are all LOL BYE to earth so they can live forever. Way to go and leave us all TO DIE.

Anyway, I wanted to talk about cylons and Caprica and BSG but you know. YOU KNOW HOW THAT SHOW ENDS.

Do you have any favorite UFO/Alien movies? Let me know in the comments. Keep watching the skies franz!
