Question Of The Day: Do You Believe In Aliens?

For today’s exercise in me asking you questions, when I say “aliens,” I actually mean “life in other places than earth.” This can be but is not limited to: bacteria, fungi, multi cellular organisms, and on and on. Basically, it can be any form of life anywhere in the universe.

Possible Alien Bacteria Found In Meteor

If you are wondering where this question came from, it comes from me watching a lot of Ancient Aliens on the Netflix as I type. That show is interesting in the “oh I am not watching anything else right now” kind of way. It’s neat stuff to think about but on the whole, I don’t really believe a lot of the show’s explanations because of this reason:

What they tend to do on this show is just replace one vague explanation with another: ALIENS. I get it, but at the same time, not really. Do things really need to be that elaborate? Not according to Occam’s Razor.

Best thing ever.

Do I believe in extraterrestrial life? Yes. Why? Because all that empty space would kind of be a waste. In my brain, all types of it is out there in its various forms. Maybe it’s beyond our oberservable universe. Maybe it’s in our own galaxy. Who knows. I just think the chances of it occuring at least once in all this space is very likely.

The Drake Equation makes a lot of sense to me.

So what about you? Do you think life exists out there in the vast, so called emptiness of space? I know this has nothing to with anything that we ever talk about here on this site but what the hey, whatever. It’s a fun thing to think about.

Do you think there’s life out there?
