Photo Diary: Kitschy Road Trip!

Not being nearly ready to go back to the real world yet after the holidays, Jon and I took my new purple Polaroid camera and went on an impromptu road trip through Utah and Arizona last week. The mission: find the good, the weird and the tacky.

We stopped in Colorado City to see what life was like among the polygamist community (findings: creepy), visited the Grand Canyon, and stayed and took polaroids in two amazing places in a spooky old Arizona mining town called Bisbee: a kitschy vintage Airstream park, and a delightfully princesslike Victorian suite in an old bed-and-breakfast. (Both reported to be haunted, but no such luck.)

In this gallery: polaroids, non-polaroids, entirely inappropriate footwear, and so forth.
