5 Ways To Face Your Fears

Let’s face it: fears are scary! From public speaking to pesky spiders, the last thing anyone wants to do with their fear is to stare it straight in the eye. But with a new year comes a new you – and a new you should take a risk and face a fear, because… why not?! There’s just no avoiding them and you can’t dodge them forever. Whether it’s your fear of the dark to your horrid fear of snakes, here are 5 ways you can go about facing your fears:

1. Write Your Fears Out

Put pen to paper and write out those things you fear. Analyze them and figure out ways you can get over them. Whether it’s tackling them all at once or taking baby steps and conquering them one by one, writing them down is a great first step in facing your fears!

2. Relax

Take a deep breath or two and relax. One thing that doesn’t help your fears is stressing out about them.

3. Laugh At Them

There’s nothing like taking something serious and cutting it down to make it so serious, it’s ridiculous. That serious fear of yours? Completely laughable!

4. Believe in Yourself

Sometimes all you need is a good ol’ pep talk – starting from yourself. Tell yourself that you can do this, that the only thing to fear is fear itself and that you are above your fear. And guess what? You can do it!

5. Learn More About Them

One of the best ways to fight fear is to come prepared – with knowledge, that is! The more you know, the better you know how to handle a situation or thing you are afraid of.
