Liina Stein Autumn/Winter 2012/2013

Moon Babies, I wanna introduce you a very exciting and cool young fashion designer from EstoniaLiina Stein. I have worn a bunch of her clothes but now with her new collection freshly out, I thought it would be a good idea to write about her more. I was lucky to get a chance to ask a couple of questions to see what this super talented girl has been up to. Check out our brief Q & A and a gallery of her fresh designs.

Q: What is the newest collection inspired by?

A: Making this collection, I was thinking of all different types of women and they inspired me. I wanted to create designs from different ends of the spectrum and moods and then put them all together. There is a lot of different styles, colors and fabrics in this collection, some of it printed, some of it even knit. I used silk, velvet, latex, leather, tulle and cotton and designed 5 different patterns for it.

Q: How long does it take you to create a collection?

A: This one I started constructing in July, sketching and manufacturing in August and I just finished everything in the middle of November.

Q: What is the hardest thing for you when it comes to brining a collection to life?

A: The hardest things is having an idea and not being able to manufacture it cause a certain kind of fabric doesn’t exist for example. That’s frustrating.

Q: Do you yourself have a favorite piece of clothing?

A: It would have to be a printed body suit and garters.
