Music Influencing Fashion

The duo behind Nina Sky represents two style architypes; the “New York City Girl” and the menswear inspired “boy meets girl” look. In honor of ORGNL TV, Stoli asked me to share my music and fashion inspiration with you guys!

Music affects fashion on so many levels. One of my current favorite examples is Lady Gaga. Many designers have taken her on as a muse of their visions and collections. After she came on the music scene it seemed as if was instantly that cat walks and magazines were embracing more ” out there” fashion. This type of style had always been looked down on and now it seems to be celebrated! Colored hair in everything from major campaigns to daily life, spikes and clothing that is expressing is now accepted on anyone. I feel she opened the doors not only for designers but for everyone looking to experiment with their style. Gaga had made an official fashion video for Mugler SS12 as well as appeared on the runway. She has also preformed at private Marc Jacobs after parties and been dressed in custom clothing from the king of fashion himself.

Love her or hate her you have to think, if there was no Gaga where would fashion be today? www.stoli.com www.orgnl.tv

Which music artist/singer do you think had the biggest influence on fashion or on your own style?“Our biggest influence would be Gwen Stefani. Everything she wears is awesome and the way she mixes masculine/ feminine is always on point.” NINA SKY
