Artist Of The Month: Ellie Goulding
Hello and welcome to a little segment I like to call: Artist Of The Month! Happy October! The artist I’m featuring this month is releasing her second album on October 9th and I’m so excited to hear what she has in store for us! I’m sure you’re all familiar with her Top 40 hit, “Lights” and her signature raspy voice.
I first heard Ellie Goulding in the spring of 2010 when her song “Starry Eyed” was featured on the Kick Ass soundtrack. It wasn’t until a year later that her debut album, Lights, was officially released in the US. I remember listening to a few snippets off of YouTube and running out that day to go buy it. Yes, I’m that girl. I actually saw Ellie for free last summer at the Best Buy in Union Square. She performed acoustically and added some funny commentary between songs. She’s so refreshing to watch and listen to. She definitely has that unique dynamic that pop radio was missing.
Ellie’s second studio album, Halcyon, will be released October 9th. Her current single, “Anything Could Happen” is available now.
