Business Trend: Clothing Store Meets Hair Salon

I’m always very interested in the average consumer -specifically milennials and Gen Y. How do we shop? Where do we shop? What do we buy? How do we like to buy it? These questions always run through my brain. Over the past two years, I’ve noticed more and more beauty salons that open clothing boutiques in the front of the store or in the space next store. This weekend I was in several California beach towns and noticed this trend in full swing. I went into at least three clothing boutiques that had hair salons in the back or hair salons attached. Shopping at their boutique didn’t make me want to get my hair done. But does getting your hair done and feeling ‘pretty’ make you want to buy new clothes? Perhaps….

What do you think? Are you more likely to purchase clothing after the perfect haircut?
