Warped Tour Memories: Through The Years

It’s Warped Tour season here at Buzznet and in celebration of the event we are asking everyone from Warped Tour Alumn, bands on this years tour, Buzzmakers, staff and the community to share their memories from the tour. I decided to join in on the questions and share my experience with all of you! This will be my 8th year in a row attending and I can’t wait to see what the Califonia dates have in store!

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear “Warped Tour?”

I think of a day filled with adventure, seeing amazing live bands and hanging with friends.

What is your most memorable moment from going to a show?

Ahhh.. this is my 8th Warped Tour, so it’s really hard to pick one. But I’ll go with my first Warped Tour in 2005, my Dad purchased tickets because HE wanted to go and see The Offspring (how rock & roll right?) Anyways, I remember the second we entered into the festival The Starting Line just took the main stage, so I grabbed my brothers hand and ran into the pit, singing “Best Of Me” at the top of my lungs. And from that Warped Tour on, I fell in love with music & this scene and made my dream job become my reality.

Suggestions on how to survive a day at The Warped Tour?

Don’t stress out about seeing everything. The second you walk into Warped Tour go look at the blow up schedule so you know what bands are playing what stages & at what time. After that walk around the merch tents to see if your favorite band is signing! Don’t forget to bring a bottle of water, sunscreen and backpack so you can hold all your free stickers/ band posters.

A favorite band you’ve seen while at a show?

Another tough question! It was really awesome seeing Katy Perry perform in 2008. Last year I worked and took photos for Buzznet and had a blast shooting Paramore!

Craziest thing you’ve seen while at the Warped Tour?

Last year at Ventura there was a girl backstage by the buses that was just passed out in the grass. So many people went up to her to make sure she was okay, but she continued to sleep. People were nervous that she was going to miss her bus call.

Any band’s your excited to see this year?

I’m excited to see Bayside (missed them at Bamboozle), Sleeping With Sirens, Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday. It’s going to be awesome to see the Breathe Carolina boys finally play the main stage. And I’ve never seen G-Eazy perform, so I’m excited to see what his performance is like. There are a ton of great acts on this years tour, great work to Kevin Lyman!
