Three For Free: Roadrunner Records, Saint Saviour and Frank Ocean Give Away Free Music
Festival season in the UK has fully begun with rain-soaked terrain for rock lovers at Download. Those who’ve braved the mud at Donnington, England are being rewarded with a free sampler from Roadrunner Records. If, however, metal is not for you – Lovebox festival attendees (and would-be attendees) are being gifted with a song about headliner Grace Jones and Lollapalooza’s Frank Ocean offers a freebie for fans of contemporary R&B. If you’re not happy with rock, rap or pop, stop reading now and return to your acoustic-electronica.
Roadrunner Records
Earlier in the year, the future looked bleak for iconic rock label Roadrunner Records after the revelation that several of their offices were to be closed. However, some of the biggest names in metal and punk still sit on the label’s roster including Black Stone Cherry, Korn and Lamb Of God who all feature of this free sampler. (It’s important to remember though that if you can spare a few pounds, support the artists – and the label – by buying their music/tickets)

Saint Saviour
As Saint Saviour prepares to play London’s Lovebox festival, there’s one artist she is particularly excited to be sharing the bill with – Grace Jones. In honour of the eccentric headliner, the singer-songwriter is releasing an eponymous track about her idol. Speaking about the hero-worship track, Saint Saviour said “I can’t wait to see Grace Jones again because for me she embodies everything a performer should. It’s for that reason I will be leading the crowds in a war cry of her name. I wrote this song a long time ago but never really knew what to do with it until now.”

Frank Ocean
After releasing a short teaser of “Pyramids” earlier today, Frank Ocean has now released the song in its entirety – for free…all 10 minutes of it. The MPFreebie is being given away to fans to promote his new run of tour dates across America next month. You can listen to the track below (if you’ve got the time); if you like what you hear, download it for free and save your money to fund your trip to see him when he hits the road this Summer.
