Question of the Day: What’s Your Favorite Smell?

Things smell. Sometimes they smell nice and sometimes they smell like not so nice. It happens. Let’s not talk about the bad stuff. Let’s talk about the stuff that smells good and makes you hungry. You know, the more I write about this, the stranger it sounds and it’s starting to get creepy.

One time, I was walking in the middle of the desert that was El Paso. I decided to just follow some train tracks to see where they went because that was kind of stuff I did to keep myself entertained.

It was a rather cool day, the sun was setting, and there was a slight breeze. This was very different than the usual IT’S 8 MILLION DEGRESS OUT” that the El Paso desert is known for. I think that’s why I was walking about.

Anypoots, as I was walking on the ties, a gust of wind came from below my feets and the smell of sand and tar hit my nose. The Way the wind hit my ears sounded like the ocean and I thought about being home on the Santa Monica Pier. Funny how a smell can instantly transport you hundreds of miles and to distant memories.

To this day, that’s what I think of when I smell that strange tar scent. Deserts and oceans and walking aimlessly.

Now that I am done rambling, as I am prone to doing, it is your turn to answer this most odd Question of the Day. Are you ready? I hope you are. Tell me awesome stuff. Or don’t. You can just say “hi” and stuff and then make me cry. That is all. GO!
