LMFAO Brings ‘Party Rocking’ To L.A.: Sorry I’m Not Sorry For Party Rocking

If you’re familiar with LMFAO’s music, you know that they are quite the party animals. From their early-on radio hit “Shots” (the ultimate party song) as well as their current hits “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy and I Know It,” the uncle-nephew duo Redfoo and SkyBlu definitely have one thing on their mind, as every other word out of their mouth seems to be “Party Rock!” I caught the sold-out L.A. show of LMFAO’s “Sorry For Party Rocking” tour Tuesday, June 5th at L.A.’s famed Staples Center, which also featured L.A. natives Far East Movement. As a fan of both LMFAO and Far East Movement, I’d caught their local-radio station sponsored joint show last October at the Hollywood Palladium, which prompted me to attend this one. Say what you like about their music, but it’s nothing short of one big dance party.

I caught the show right as the fellas of Far East Movement took the stage. It was pretty insane to think that just a few years ago, these guys were playing small shows at my college campus and now graced a venue of such caliber. Nonetheless, the guys of FM were able to rock the crowd like nobody’s business with dance hits such as “Like a G6,” “Rocketeer,” “Girls on the Dance Floor,” and “OMG.”

A short while after Far East Movement’s set finished, the men of the hour LMFAO took the stage. Dressed up in their signature attire (Animal print pants: Check! Skin tight Speedos: Check!), the duo started the party like the party animals they were, complete with both costumed zebras and numerous inflatable zebras that they threw out into the crowd, along with a flurry of inflatable beach balls, palm trees and dolphins. The rest of the night seemed like a blur: with the Redfoo and SkyBlu running all over the stage with their dancers (none other than America’s Best Dance Crew’s talented Quest Crew) performing their radio staples that included “I’m in Miami Trick,” “Shots,” “La La La,” “Sorry For Party Rocking” and “Getting Over You.” At one point Redfoo was suspended and flying over the crowd.

And just when you thought the show was over, the duo kept the party going (complete with “Champagne Showers” for the lucky ones in the front and confetti showers for all) with their encore songs “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy and I Know It.”

Highlight of the night: Redfoo giving his grandmother a birthday shout-out in the middle of the show. She must be so proud.
