Three For Free: Ben Folds Five, JJAMZ and Fun Fun Records Give Away Free Music

As well as today being Cinco De Mayo, it is also “Free Comic Book Day” today which is good news for comic book fans but has little meaning for music nerds. Luckily for all you musos, I bring you some free music so that you don’t feel left out from the party. Enjoy!

Ben Folds Five

After parting ways and going solo, Ben Folds has reunited with his ‘five‘ (which confusingly consists of of just two other members). In preparation of their appearance at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in June, the band have released new song “Do It Anyway” which premiered on Folds’ solo shows.

JJAMZ

Hailed by Katy Perry as creating her “favorite song of the Summer“, “rad new super-group-band named Jjamz” (also the words of KP – thanks for writing this for me, Katy) have released Ms Perry’s fave “Heartbeat” for free. All they ask for is your email on their website and the MPfreebie is yours.

Fun Fun Records

Why have free music from just one artist when you can have freebies from an entire record label? Fun fun! There is a surprise however as these songs are ‘child friendly’. The label’s ethos “has a focus on music for kids and all things positive” – interesting. The artists featured on this sampler are Kepi Ghoulie, Dan Potthast, Play Date, Happy Wags and Mike Park.
