Lola’s Personal & Photo Diary!

Well hello again, my foxy friends.

I’m sick in bed, which means I finally have some time to write & post!

I’ve been posting a fair amount of photos with little to no insight into what’s actually going on in my life on any given day, so I’m going to try to accompany my photo journals with more, you know, words. Words! (Feel free to skip to the gallery below if you find me insufferably boring.)

A couple of weeks ago we filmed a video of me and Jon playing a certain song that holds a special place in my 90s-nostalgic heart, and I can’t wait to show you guys because it occurs to me that there is virtually no footage on the internet of me actually singing live (unless you dig really deep and you find some really old and potentially embarrassing stuff). Everyone knows what I look like, and many of you have heard my music, but I feel like there’s a disconnect when there’s no video of an artist. I’ve been singing since I was a kid, for god’s sake, and some might even say I’m pretty good at it (not that it’s a requirement for pop singers these days), so it’s about time I start showing it.

I feel like I have so much to say, and I’m faced with specific limitations that prevent me from saying it at the rate I’d like to, but that’s why we hustlin’, namean?

Aside from said video, this month I’ve been all over the place – Las Vegas, where I hung with my girl Bebe and was told on stage by David Copperfield that I’m destined for pop stardom; New York, where I had some great meetings and died from ecstasy at the Patricia Field store; home in LA, where I’ve been writing music & recorded one of my new songs at the beautiful Conway Studios with producer Ammo (maybe you’ve heard of the little-known artists he’s had hits with, Katy Perry and Ke$ha?). I also shot a style profile video of me & my closet with the very talented Hannah Lux Davis for a new fashion website, and am getting ready for some other super exciting shoots coming up!

In this gallery you’ll see photos from the studio, my new clothes from New York, my calendar, a couple of my musical vision boards (which I’ve started making to help hone in on my own unique sound), appearances from Bebe Zeva & fellow Buzzmakers Renee Olstead, Hanna Beth, Ashlee Holmes, and Jessi Jae Joplin, and, more importantly, a pink dog I saw on the street.

Okay, I’m gonna go sniffle my day away! Check ze gallery and let me know whatcha think!www.lolablanc.com
