Thoughts On Justin Bieber’s New Single ‘Boyfriend’
Justin Bieber has taken his first attempt to step away from being a wholesome pop idol and into a sex symbol, with his new single, ‘Boyfriend’.
In a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest on KISS FM this morning, Bieber explained the new single from his forthcoming album is, “a little bit more mature but it’s also something that I think I am ready for.”
The catchy track was produced by breakout singer/producer Mike Posner and while it has a catchy chorus, the versus leave me confused as to how exactly he has matured.
Justin whisper-raps the verses, in an attempt to be sexy, while comparing himself to Buzz Lightyear? His falsetto sound smooth and overall the song is cute, but carries very cheesy lyrics. In theory, this would be a more mature sound for Bieber — but the lyrics might not hold up for him 7 years down the road.
