Miles Kane Would “Love To Work With Janelle Monae” – But How Does He Compare To Her Past Collaborators?

Earlier today, the news broke that British indie singer Miles Kane is hoping for a duet with alternative R&B’s reigning queen Janelle Monae. Miles Kane told the NME “I’d love to do a duet with that bird Janelle Monae, I’d love to make a great two-and-a-half minute pop song with her. I haven’t put the feelers out, but I could see us working well together.”However, referring to Miss Monae as “that bird” might not go down too well with the androgynous dresser. Although Janelle is no stranger to collabs so let’s have a look at her previous duetting highlights:

Fun.

“We Are Young” is arguably JM’s best known collab. The track’s been given the Glee treatment too – the modern way of classifying a track as a “hit”.

Estelle

Featuring on Estelle’s new album is this little duet. The two soulful singers certainly do their thing here.

“Open Happiness”

At the beginning of the month, this Coco-Cola collab featuring Brendon Urie, Travie McCoy, Cee-Lo Green, Patrick Stump and Butch Walker was declared a “Classic” by this very blog.

Tightrope (Wondamix) [Feat. B.o.B and Lupe Fiasco]

As well as featuring on the tracks of other artists, Janelle Monae has had the pleasure of various musical cameos on her own material including this “Wondamix”.
