charlavail:

I had this epiphany like a week and a half ago so all the ideas as of now are still fresh and new and I haven’t committed to anything yet. I always saw the bakery as my way to gain creative recognition. I never imagined having any sort of following prior to the opening. The bakery was also designed to cater to Orlando, meaning family oriented/kid friendly. I also intended for it to be heavier in design than art. It’s rare that I paint a mural and still like it a year later. I’m a huge fan of art installations and it dawned on me that I could approach the bakery as such. It’ll be edgier, bolder and slightly creepier. There will still be pastries/candies/beverages but the focus will be on the art. I’m currently thinking of setting up in retail spaces in six cities across the US from February to September of next year. It’d be temporary, only a few weeks in each city, like a traveling exhibition. Tentative cities: Los Angeles, Seattle, Nashville, Orlando, Chicago, New York City. Choosing that time frame to avoid holiday season and winter. I’m beyond excited with this idea. It allows me to create with fewer boundaries. It won’t have to hold up to the same wear and tear as before. It will be more intricate and delicate. The whole concept really encourages me to push myself and become more of an artist. I don’t know what will follow after the initial tour. All I’ve ever wanted was to be able to carry myself as an artist and be successful with it and there’s no telling what sort of opportunities this may bring.

P.S. That’s my “hesitant to share my idea” face. Also, it will be Sam and I and throughout the process we will be travel blogging like crazy.

This sounds like a fantastic idea!! Also to — ECSTATIC that LA is on the list! Yay!
