Mercury retrograde gets blamed for a lot things that go wrong in our lives. What exactly is a Mercury retrograde? People say that the planet Mercury rules communication, travel, contracts, automobiles, and such. It goes in a retrograde motion— or motion that makes it appear to be going backwards in the night sky— three times a year for approximately three weeks at a time. When Mercury is retrograde, there’s usually a lot of confusion. The retrograde that is currently in full effect is set to end on August 26th.

Astrologers recommend against starting anything new when Mercury goes retrograde. Mercury Retrograde to astrologers is the same thing as ‘Murphy’s Law’. For those of you who are unaware of what Murphy’s Law is, it’s this: Anything that can go wrong —WILL.
