Patrick Stump Finally Reveals ‘Soul Punk’ Release Date

Ever since Patrick Stump’s first solo performance way back in March last year, the details of his debut album’s release have been eagerly-awaited. First we were told that it would drop February 2011 but due to delays we were instead given the EP Truant Wave to ease the wait. Then it seemed that Stump’s solo album was surely due to premiere July 2011 but as the weeks rolled on and the articles started stating ‘Late Summer’, we got a little suspicious. However our patience has been rewarded as Patrick Stump tweeted that ‘Soul Punk’ will be released on………

*drum roll please*

OCTOBER 18TH.

Yes, I said October. (Patrick Stump didn’t specify a year, but I’m assuming/hoping he means 2011 although this year would mean a Thursday release)

Well it may seem like a long wait but when you think how long we’ve wait for a release date, it’s nothing. So let’s circle the date on our calendars and start counting down the days anyway! In the mean time we can focus on releases that are happening a little sooner, such as ‘This City‘ via iTunes tomorrow (7/26) and on vinyl August 2nd with ‘Saturday Night Again‘ as the B-side according to Amazon. N.B However I would take the Amazon release date with a pinch of salt seeing as they’ve been listing ‘Soul Punk’ as ‘shipping from September 13th’. Boo.

Keeping positive now with all this excitement, you know what I feel like? Yeah, I feel like I’m gonna explode. *Cue the music*

Are you excited yet? Or is the wait too long?
