‘Smallville’ Star Sam Jones III Is Headed To Jail After Drug Bust

Sounds like Sam Jones III is having the worst week ever! The Smallville actor has been sentenced to a year in prison for his role in a big-time drug ring.

The 28-year-old actor was busted in 2009 after DEA agents raided his home, looking to shut down a drug ring in the illegal purchase and distribution of Oxycontin.

TMZ reports that Sam pled guilty to conspiracy to sell more than 10,000 pills of Oxycodone, a painkiller, and was sentenced to 366 days in prison – even though the prosecutor wanted him to serve 5 years.

Reportedly before the sentencing, Sam pleaded with the judge to show mercy, explaining that he had lost everything including his dog, car and his acting role in Blue Mountain State due to the drug charges. Seems like the judge granted him leniency, since Sam only got a year of prison time and three years supervised probation.

Immediately after his sentencing, Sam tweeted this:

Must be quite the relief, huh Sam?

Aside from his legal matters, Sam’s ex-girlfriend Playboy model Karissa Shannon has packed up and moved into the Playboy Mansion to be with Hugh Hefner. Karissa is one half of the Shannon twins – sister Kristina is the other. The sisters are there to console Hef, whose wedding was called off by his fiance just days before the big day. The Shannon twins were Hef’s girlfriends in 2008, but left the mansion when Hef announced his engagement to ex-fiance Crystal Harris in 2010.

Do you think Sam got off too easy? What sentence would you give him if you were the judge?
