Simple Plan: A Music Video Timeline

In honor of Simple Plans fourth studio album, Get Your Heart On!, coming out a week from today, here’s a look back at the music videos that made fans first fall in love!

‘I’m Just A Kid: In 2002 this song, written by frontman Pierre Bouvier, was the band’s debut single and was featured on three movie soundtracks. Grind, Cheaper by the Dozen & The New Guy — which inspired the music video.

‘I’d Do Anything’: This catchy tune is off their first album and features Blink-182‘s Mark Hoppus. There is also a demo version of the song, called ‘Anything’ with significantly different lyrics.

‘Perfect’: The video for this teen anthem of pressure to be perfect was released in 2003, and the video was directed by Liz Friedlander. Friedlander has since gone on to direct popular television shows including episodes of One Tree Hill, The Vampire DiariesPretty Little Liars, and Gossip Girl.

‘Welcome To My Life’: This song is the first single off SP’s second studio album, Still Not Getting Any…, back in 2004. The song ended up peaking at number 40 on the Billboard Hot 100.

‘When I’m Gone’: This video was filmed on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, CA back in 2007 before the band released their self-titled album, Simple Plan. Keep a look out for a cameo from celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.

And the grand finale…

‘Jet Lag’: This brand new video is a duet with pop singer Natasha Bedingfield. This up-tempo tune is off their new album and it is incredibly catchy. I apologize in advance for the hook being stuck in your had all day. The band also have a versions of the song in French — SEXY!
