Kerrang! Awards 2011

BOOM! It’s that time of year again when everyone’s favourite rock magazine holds its annual awards ceremony somewhere in London town.

The event started at about 7pm, and the likes of 30 Seconds to Mars, All Time Low and Alice Cooper are amongst a whole list of rock stars and legends to be attending the ceremony.

Kicking things off was the Best British Newcomer award, which went to Brit rockers Asking Alexandria.

The next award was Best International Newcomers which was awarded to Black Veil Brides from Hollywood, California. Well done guys!

Next up was The Devotion Award, sponsored by Relentless Energy Drink. The big K was awarded to welsh rockers Skindred. What an award to win!

The award for Best Video went to the amazing My Chemical Romance for their comic inspired, colourful, crazy video for hit single ‘Na Na Na’, beating off competition from the likes of 30 Seconds to Mars and Young Guns. Well done boys!

The Best Single award went to american rockers 30 Seconds to Mars for their single (a very ‘dirty’ single, at that, if you’ve seen the video) ‘Hurricane’. HI FIVE GUYS. The band beat Bullet for my Valentine, MCR AND Panic! at the Disco with their hit single.

The Classic Songwriter award was handed to the Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro.

Next up, was the somewhat prestigious Best Album award, which was awarded to screamo band Bring Me The Horizon for their album ‘There Is A Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let’s Keep It A Secret.’ (Quite possibly one of the longest album names EVER.) They again beat the likes of other nominees MCR, Escape the Fate and Avenged Sevenfold to the title. Congrats, guys!

The Best Live Band award went to All Time Low, who are right here on Buzznet! The band manage to overthrow the likes of MCR, 30 Seconds to Mars and Avenged Sevenfold with their what must be pretty awesome live sets. Nice one lads!

Next up was the award every British person loves, (because it makes them feel PROUD!) the Best British Band award. This went to everyone’s favourite, You Me At Six!

After that was the equally as prestigious award for Best International Band.Bands such as Paramore, MCR and All Time Low were all nominated. However, it was 30 Seconds to Mars that won, scooping up their 2nd award of the night!

Look at them there. Looking all happy.

The Kerrang! Legend Award was awarded to UTTER legend Mr Ozzy Osbourne, whose award was collected by his son, Jack, on his behalf.

CELEBRATE, MIGHTY ONE!

One of the biggies was up next, the Kerrang! Hall of Fame, which includes bands such as Slayer, Iron Madien and Green Day. This year, it’s American band Korn‘s turn to be placed amongst some of the greats. Congrats!

Now we’re into what I like to call the ‘biggie’ awards. (Sad, yes, but who gives a damn?) The Kerrang! Inspiration Award went to Def Leppard!

I think this is a kind of old photo, but oh well, it’s Def Leppard!

The final award of the night was the Kerrang! Icon Award, quite rightly awarded to Alice Cooper! Kerrang!’s tweet read ‘the room is on it’s feet.‘ Good to hear! Congratulations, Alice!

So, there we have it for another year! You guys happy with the results? Drop a few comments letting me know how you feel! (No spam or hate tho pls :D)
