Mark Hoppus Posts Lyrics to New Blink 182 Song ‘Kaleidoscope’

As the world anxiously awaits the release (or a concrete date, even) of Blink182‘s post-hiatus album, we’re getting bits of news to keep the anticipation up. This week they announced that they’re co-headlining the 2011 Honda Civic Tour with My Chemical Romance, and yesterday Mark Hoppus posted lyrics for a new song on his Facebook.

stop banging away on my kaleidoscope

stop draining the water out of my sink

just play me something i can dance to

i can dance to anything you want to sing

lock me away in the studio

filling up with smoke and scenarios

stop blocking the driveway with your car

put the butterfly in the bell jar

i need a long hard look at my jacked up mind

i need the hours and the overtime

i need some new friends

i need a fake ID

this is all i’ll ever need

erase the progress on your game

leave the hall light on in the west wing

put the loudest songs on your mix tape

i can dance to anything you want to sing

Whatcha think? I’m into it, but everytime I want to type Kaleidoscope, I have to google the spelling. FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS, I KNOW. I particulary like the line, “ i can dance to anything you want to sing”.

In additon to diligently tinkering away at their next masterpiece, Hoppus has his own show on Fuse. Do any of you guys watch it?
