Flashback Friday: ‘The Disney Afternoon’ Shows

Before kids roamed the malls after school (or wherever kids hang out these days), many of us kids of the 90s looked forward to coming home after school and catching the latest block of Disney Afternoon cartoons on TV.

Don’t remember The Disney Afternoon? Here’s a quick history lesson: The Disney Afternoon was a two-hour TV programming block produced by The Walt Disney Company that aired from September 10, 1990 until Fall 1997. The two-hour block was broken up into four half-hour segments that each contained a cartoon series – much like ABC’s TGIF series.

Here are 8 of the original shows from The Disney Afternoon. How many of them do you remember?

Aladdin (TV series)

Bonkers

Chip ‘N Dale Rescue Rangers

Darkwing Duck

DuckTales

Goof Troop

Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears

Tale Spin
