UPDATE ON GAGA-GATE

So, earlier today Buzznet reported that Lady Gaga wasn’t going to allow Al Yankovic to release his parody of her single “Born This Way.” No reason was given, Al was just told “No, you can’t release it on an album because GAGA SAID SO.”

Which sucks.

EXCEPT GAGA DIDN’T SAY SO.

Apparently the fact that she didn’t approve it was news to Lady Gaga herself!

Gaga’s manager has now admitted that he never forwarded my parody to Gaga – she had no idea at all. Even though we assumed that Gaga herself was the one making the decision (because, well, that’s what we were TOLD), he apparently made the decision completely on his own.

He’s sorry.

And Gaga loves the song.

So what does this mean? Well, it means “Perform This Way” will appear on Al’s next album, it means he can donate proceeds from the sales of the song and video to the Human Rights Campaign AND it means that Lady Gaga’s manager has some SERIOUS explaining to and, um, MIGHT wanna start updating his resume.

I’m just saying, you might not wanna pull this sort of stuff when Mama Monster’s involved.
