Matthew Morrison Scores Ultimate Duet With Elton John… And It’s NOT On ‘Glee’!

It’s a duet Will Schuester would be SO proud of: Glee‘s Matthew Morrison scored the ultimate duet partner in none other than Elton John for Matthew’s upcoming solo album!

The two duet on a mashup of Elton’s hits “Mona Lisa and the Mad Hatters” and “Rocket Man,” which is available for download beginning today. Ryan Seacrest debuted a clip of the duet on his show Monday.

Matthew reached out to Elton, asking him to be part of his debut album and the pair recorded the song in January.

“He gave me free reign, and it took me three days to go through his whole collection because he’s got so many songs,” Matthew told ET Canada. “[But] it’s a beautifully epic seven-minute song, and it’s my favorite song on the album.”

Matthew Morrison’s album, which also features duets with Glee co-star Gwyneth Paltrow and former ‘N Syncer JC Chasez, releases May 10th.
