Buzznet Talks to Slug from Atmosphere About ‘The Family Sign’, Children’s Books, and Stage ‘Accidents’

Indie-rap icons Atmosphere put out their 7th album The Family Sign today, and just the name alone shows how far they’ve come from their college hip-hop hero days. Slug’s gone from anti-hero to family man, and the new album reveals more maturity and an overall sense of storytelling that is set to the backdrop of dark piano and bluesy guitar. Despite the general feel of finality in the sonic sparsness, the album is more of ode to the working-class family man than a melancholy tale.

We spoke to front man Slug (aka Sean Daley) about the record, touring, and various other random topics, including his new penchant for penning children’s books…

You can download the record on ITUNES.
