Buzznet is basically a breeding ground for the next Karl Lagerfelds and Vivienne Westwoods of the world. We have SO many talented fashion designers doing creative and amazing things, and this week we want to highlight some of them and their work through interviews and photos. Here are our Buzznet Designers to Watch…

Marialia has been at the forefront of the fashion game since the age of 5. She started out cutting up her own clothing as a child and by 16, she launched her own clothing line. Marialla’s creations have ended up on celebs such as Brenda Song and Buzznet’s own Hannah Beth. An amazing feat considering this designer hasn’t had any formal training. What will be next for Marialla? The sky’s the limit!

BUZZNET: Describe your own personal style in 10 words or less.

ML: A little barbie mixed with rock & roll. That’s the best I can come up with and its taken me years to figure it out!

BN: What are some of your fashion must haves? What is something you can’t live without?

ML: A wide selection of jackets (blazers, cardigans, knits, crops)…they’re so easy to compliment with outfits and when you have many to choose from, its almost brainless. Leggings are another must-have, and anything with rips and studs. I’m currently really into tattered t-shirts, cut up like crazy and paired with a cute skirt. Cant live without the color black! I wear it too much.

BN: Who are your favorite fashion icons?

ML: I don’t really have any; I admire a lot of peoples’ style but I wouldn’t say I idolize any.

BN: Describe your clothing line in 10 words or less.

ML: Quirky, feminine, and chic with a touch of “bad-ass” edge.

BN: Where do you find your inspiration?

ML: My inspiration never comes specific things- I dont even really know where it comes from; ideas just come to me with no explanation.

BN: Tell us about your all-time favorite piece you have created and why it’s your absolute favorite.

ML: Unfair question because this changes all the time! My favorite at the moment would have to be the Studded Hoodies. They have been such a popular item, and they’re so comfortable. I wear my samples every chance i get- even the men’s version!

BN: What are your plans for the future? Upcoming projects? Collaborations?

ML: Some really exciting plans that I can’t talk about yet, but what I can say is to just look forward for two new collection to drop this year! Currently wrapping up the Fall/Winter 2011 collection & in the pre-production stages with Spring/Summer 2012 which I will debut in October at LA Fashion Week!
