Rapper Nate Dogg Passes Away At 41

After years of battling deteriorating health, rapper Nate Dogg passed away at the age of 41. The cause of death has not officially been announced, however, the rapper (real name: Nathaniel Hale) was known to have suffered two major strokes in 2007 – which left him partially paralyzed – and another in 2008.

Nate’s death was first reported by the Long Beach Press Telegram, which noted his family announced his death on Tuesday.

The rapper is best known for his collaborations with Snoop Dogg, Warren G, and Eminem. He got his start in music as a member of the trio 213 with the then-unknown Snoop Dogg and Warren G, and later made his debut on “Deeez Nuuuts,” a track on Dr. Dre’s 1992 blockbuster The Chronic. In 1994 he had his biggest hit with “Regulate,” a collaboration with Warren G that hit the number two position on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart. Other hits featuring Nate Dogg include Eminem’s “Shake That” (watch below!), Dr. Dre‘s “The Next Episode,” 50 Cent‘s “21 Questions,” Mos Def’s “Oh No” and Ludacris‘ “Area Codes.”
