DJ AM Cause Of Death: Accidental Substance Abuse

In case anyone was waiting for the nitty-gritty details of DJ Adam Goldstein’s death, TMZ has obtained that info from the New York Medical Examiner. It probably won’t make anyone feel any better, though.

Ready for this? Bust out your medical dictionaries.

The acute intoxication was “due to the combined effects of cocaine, oxycodone, hydrocodone (Vicodin), Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax, Benadryl and Levamisole (a drug used to cut cocaine with).”

I don’t mean to be insensitive at all, but I think it’s a bit strange to call the combination of EIGHT drugs an accident. I realize that it’s probably just a technicality (or that I just don’t fully understand addiction), but whoa.

2009 is turning out to be just one big anti-drug campaign, ain’t it?

Stay clean, kids.
