WHAT? Fall Out Boy! OKAY!

Those of you who are purists who believe that rock and hip hop should be kept separate at all times? You’re dismissed.

For the rest of you: guess what! Fall Out Boy will be collaborating with a Grammy award winning hip-hop star they’ve worked with in the past! And considering Fall Out Boy’s history with hip-hop acts, that creates a decently long list of possibilities, doesn’t it? After all, Fall Out Boy have worked with Jay-Z, Timbaland, Kanye West and more.

Don’t worry, I won’t keep you in suspense! FOB will once again be working with Lil Wayne, who appears on the track “Tiffany Blews” from Folie a Deux. Wayne, who picked up several Grammys this past year, including Best Rap Album, sings a brief interlude/bridge in the song, including the lyrics “Dear gravity, you held me down in this starlit city.”

Wayne is apparently working on an album that is “rock-themed” as a follow-up to his Grammy winning album The Carter 3. The album, titled REBIRTH will feature a yet-to-be-titled collaboration with Fall Out Boy, among other artists. REBIRTH is set to release on May 19th.

What do you think? What do you hope fans will get out of this collab? Do you think it’ll be as awesome as “One and Only,” the song they worked on with Timbaland?
