Gym Class Heroes to Join T-Pain’s Circus

The Gym Class Heroes have made a name for themselves for being genre-straddling artists. Not quite hip-hop, not quite punk, not quite pop, the boys have a kind of appeal that transcends genre lines. And their tours have done the same.

GCH spent this past summer as part of the Vans Warped Tour, along with their pals in Cobra Starship and The Academy Is… as well as a myriad of other acts including geek hip-hop star MC Chris and Travis McCoy’s girlfriend Katy Perry. In the past they’ve opened for their good friends in Fall Out Boy and, more recently, hip hop powerhouse The Roots. And now, they’re embracing their hip-hop side a little further with the announcement of their latest tourmates.

According to their official Myspace, Gym Class Heroes will be heading out on tour this December with T-Pain as well as L’il Wayne, Teddy P, and Keyshia Cole. T-Pain, of course, is touring in support of his new album, Thr33 Ringz, one of a number of circus themed albums out this year (along with Pink’s Funhouse, which actually contains a guest appearence from GCH frontman Travis McCoy, and Britney Spears’ upcoming Circus).

And for Gym Class Heroes, this is a chance to reach out to yet another audience their music would appeal to. Then again, I have yet to meet many people their music DOESN’T appeal to.

Dates have yet to be announced, but we’ll keep you updated!

What do you think? Would you attend this tour if you had the chance?
