Buzznet’s Very Own Pumpkin Carving Contest!

It’s that time of year, folks! You know, that time when stabbing something is actually encouraged and you won’t get into the type of trouble that ends up with you having your finger prints taken. All you need is a pumpkin, a neat idea, and some carving skills. Did I forget to mention that there’s a really cool prize? Well, there is!

These pumpkins here have dream. That dream involves you taking them home and releasing their inner beings via incisions to create something like this:

This photo was snapped by Buzznet’s AlexandriaWeb. By the way, this pumpkin does not have a name yet, so help pick a name before the pumpkin ends up shriveled and moldy!

This year, we here at Buzznet have decided to have our very own Pumpkin Carving Contest. We will be reviewing photos until 12 p.m, 29 October 2008. That means there’s almost an entire week to think of something snazzy! We will then select a handful of the most original and creative pumpkins and let you folks select the winner by posting a poll with what are hopefully some really rad Jack O’ Lanterns. Voting will take place all day Thursday and the winner will be announced on Friday, the 31st! The prize will be a $50 USD gift certificate to iTunes! That’s something that I would want but dag blasted, I work here! Here’s how to enter:

  • The pumpkin design must be your own. No stencils from your local WalMart! Your pumpkin can be silly, gorey, scary, or anything else that you can think of as long as it is your own design.

Stencil Example:

That’s from Alyheartscandy and her adventures at Disneyland adventures.

  • You must take at least one photo of yourself holding your pumpkin. Don’t forget to include close ups of your creation so that we may judge it. Judging things is awesome. That’s why I have a monocle.
  • One entry per person. That doesn’t mean that you can’t have more than one pumpkin in your photo if you want to make a theme of some sort.
  • Tag your uploaded pumpkin photos with TheGreat08Pumpkin. Just copy and paste that to your tags.

Please be careful when carving your pumpkins. Let’s make this a “No Ouchies” event. Be safe! With that being said, find your nearest pumpkin patch and get to carving! Not that time is running out, but it is. Go!
