No Lily, Don’t Listen!

Lily Allen wrote in her MySpace blog…

I used to pride myself on being strong minded and not being some stupid girl obsessed with the way I look . I felt like it didnt matter if I was a bit chubby cause, im not a model, I’m a singer. Im afraid I am not strong and have fallen victim to the evil machine . I write to you in a sea of tears from my hotel bed in Seattle , I have spent the past hour researching gastric bypass surgery, and laser lipo suction.”

At the time I read this, she had 270 comments– all supporting her and encouraging her that well, we love her the way she is and she is a GOOD role model. But man, it’s gotta be hard. Think of the pressure girls NOT in the spotlight, NOT gracing the pages of magazines feel– then intensify that.

Secondly, I don’t think she should be compared to Amy Winehouse, because Amy Winehouse’s music satisfies completely different musical cravings.

So, Lily, I hope you can get right in the head again and realize that we all love you the way you are– mouthy, fun, lily-sized and fabulous.

Sigh.
